Peter Roe reflects on the unexpected success of Polo G’s track “Chinatown” from the 2x platinum album THE GOAT which sampled his song “Living by the Sword”. Initially composed as part of his “Bushido” album, Peter drew inspiration from anime and traditional Chinese and Japanese film music to fit the theme of the project. The recognition feels rewarding, particularly as Peter is preparing to compose more music this fall, including another collaboration with fellow composer Pauli Hausmann. The journey has been full of surprises, highlighted by an email from Sony Music requesting a sample license, which brought to light just how much the track has resonated.
