About Tarron Crayton

We are thrilled to welcome Grammy-nominated musician, composer, and producer Tarron Crayton to the Elizabeth Music Group family! Tarron has an impressive resume, having worked with top artists like Ariana Grande, Social House, Cordae, Roddy Ricch, Ty Dolla Sign, Summer Walker, The Game, Teyana Taylor, Ant Clemons, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Backstreet Boys, and many more. He is also an accomplished artist in his own right, with releases such as Orange Juice.

He comes from a rich lineage of musical talent: his grandmother Mary, mother Sheddie, and aunts Gladys, Alma, and Kim formed a gospel quartet in Crawfordsville, Arkansas. His father, Raymond Crayton, was a professional vocalist who toured the U.S. with his bands, Shiloh Spirituals and Gospel Tornadoes. Notably, his great cousin Chester Burnett, also known as "Howlin’ Wolf," is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and one of the most influential blues musicians of all time. Crayton's musical journey began in his childhood, where he found solace and developed his skills playing instruments in his church after his mother lost their home.

After graduating high school in 2006, Crayton attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), where he majored in Sound Recording Technology and performed with the school’s Jazz Ensemble. He credits his professor, Darryl Evans (Mr. E), for deepening his understanding of music theory and introducing him to industry legends like Clark Terry. While at UAPB, Crayton played at local churches and clubs to support himself. He left college after two years and returned to Memphis, performing on Beale Street for three years before moving to Los Angeles in April 2011. Just three months after relocating, he performed at the BET Awards with Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, and Rick Ross. Since then, Crayton has become a trusted live performer, working with artists like Demi Lovato, Jonas Brothers, Usher, Ariana Grande, and many more. He has also appeared on numerous TV shows, including Good Morning America and the MTV Awards. On August 24, 2023, Crayton released his debut EP Everything, dedicated to his late family members. The EP showcases his versatility, experience, and soulful energy, marking his commitment to becoming one of the greatest soul creators of his time.
